I`LL SIT AND WAIT FOR YOU

I`LL SIT AND WAIT FOR YOU

Aaahhhh it`s so lonely sitting here on this seat
This used to be the bench on which we`d meet,
I still come here in the hope that you will show
Well one day you may turn up you never know.

I often wonder why you upped and just went
I always enjoyed the time together we spent,
We`d sit and watch the sun gradually do down
Our day was then over so we`d wear a frown.

As the sun went down the moon would rise
So big and round right before our very eyes,
We`d sit and watch it rise up so very high
Shining big and bright in the clear night sky.

We were always good pals without a doubt
We`d sit and talk and try to figure things out,
I know your life here just wasn`t that great
And a lot of time you carried a heavy weight.

You said you felt unloved and unwanted too
And that is why you were so very often blue,
I tried to comfort you as a good pal would do
But still you left and I sure do miss you.

Do you still watch the sun sink and the moon rise?
I do but without you it brings tears to my eyes,
Gone now are the days when we sat side by side
And without you here I feel so empty inside.

Still, I will come and sit and await your return
Because for this my heart really does yearn,
To see you again and for you to sit by my side
Would really make me feel less empty inside.
