 ramblings and things

Of Tweedledum And Teeedledee

They didn't like our Jezza,
A man too much of the left.
Many members thought he'd
Got the leadership by theft.
The trouble was him trying
To run a  very tight ship
Considering his history of
Defying the Part Whip.

So, they plotted and planned
To bring his leadership down
Making life so much easier for
Boris the Tory Clown.
The next leadership contest
Didn't make things any calmer
When they went and elected
Queens Counsel Keir Starmer.

So the party carried on
To argue and squabble
Giving the impression of
An undisciplined rabble.
And so it is today
Each faction getting the blame
And each trying to decide which
Has the right to the Party name.

The Party grass roots lost faith
And then the inevitable fall,
In the  heartland of support,
Of The Great North Red Wall
So a near fascist government
Has  an almost opposition free life
While the once radical Labour Party
Transitions ever further to the right.

Now, as the rich get even richer
I'm in a constant state of shock,
At the sight workers queueing up
To tug the subservient forelock.
Look on the bright side though,
As so many of us try to do,
We've got out Country back and
Our passport's lovely shade of blue.
