Military Family Aint No Sunshine
The Military Family
Aint No Sunshine
I stand here
In the cold damp night
With two little hands
Holding mine tight
Watching you walk away
I close my eyes to Pray
That you will safely
Return to us to stay
With an aching heart
and wishing you to stay
Asking our precious Savior
To lead your safe pathway
This is not our first
It wont be the last
It's like an old movie
Our choices have cast
So proud of your choice to serve
But it takes you away so far
You strive to be the best
Military bright shining star
But I know the days ahead
Will be hard at best
It's the military family
Who endures this test
Dreading each unknown
Knock upon my door
Or that unexpected call
That will change my life's tour
The many sleepless nights
That will haunt my very soul
Until we get you back home
To achieve our life's goal
While you carry our country
With all your fellow soldiers
Our family I will carry
Upon my lone weary shoulders
Your strong shoulder
I now have not to lean upon
But our precious Savior
Is from where strength is drawn
I grip their hands tight
Singing my weary song
There aint no sunshine
When your're gone

ღ God asked me how long I planned on keeping you in my life.
I smiled and said...
How do I choose between always and forever...
But then I have found that's really not up to me... ღ
