Seek the Lord and you shall live,
Lest He breaks out like fire;
Confess and He shall forgive,
Showing what you require.
Devour but none to quench,
You turn justice to wormwood;
Casting righteousness to drench,
Into darkness where they stood.
Darkness turns day into night,
Water pours on the surface;
Call the Lord to make it right,
Let glory to shine its grace.
Who makes destruction flash forth,
To come upon the fortress;
Expelling it to the north,
No longer be the temptress.
They abhor who speaks the truth,
And who reproves in the gate;
Arrogance in the uncouth,
But judgment will seek their fate.
For they trample on the poor,
Taking taxes from the grain;
Drank not the wine anymore,
Because of feeling the pain.
Many are your transgressions,
Afflicts the righteous with sin;
A bribe with no confessions,
To change attitude within.
The prudent will keep silent,
In such of an evil time;
Unsure if turned violent,
The fate that waits for the crime.
Seek good instead of evil,
That you may live for the Lord;
By avoiding the devil,
As you live in one accord.
Despise evil and love good,
Launching justice at the gate;
Doing as what the Lord would,
For avoiding an ill-fate.
