My Poetry

Christmas Is:

At Christmas time, what's with all the hustle
And what is also with all the bustle?
Why not take the time to enjoy the small things?
For the small things count if not more than the big things

Let's be thankful for what Lord Jesus has done for us
And let's be thankful for all the people in our lives
Let's not take anything or anyone for granted
Christmas is all about giving and helping others

Let's let the Love of Christ shine through you
As I will let the Love of Christ shine through me
Christmas is about the birth of Christ; not material things
I don't want presents or decorations; I just want Lord Jesus

What we need, cannot be put under any Christmas tree
The One who Saves cannot be put in a box
And it's not about the decorations
Nor is Christmas about how much you spend

A child was born to us in the City of David
What a glorious sight to see, indeed
And what a miracle it must have been
What a blessing it must have been

Oh, Lord Jesus, You came into a dark world
And You're the light that shined bright
Your birth gave us a hope that was never before
What a marvelous time it must have had been

To walk with You was a blessing
And to hear what You had to say was a miracle
How could the world not see nor understand?
You are our Living Hope and our Savior

The true church today has not seen You
Yet, we believe that You came to earth
Through a blessed virgin birth
What a miracle that way

You are alive; You are the reason for the season
Let's celebrate Your birth and Your goodness
Let Your love been seen through Your children
And help us to help those who are in need

Please, open our hearts and our eyes, Lord Jesus
Take out the stony hearts, and put a flesh heart in us
Let us not be blind to the things around us
And I pray for us to bring a message of hope to those in need
