The Universe
The universe can be a cruel and vexing puzzle
Many choices to make
Roads to run down and paths to take
chaos and order sorrow and bliss
right or wrong hit and miss
Black and white night and day
It seems so close yet far away
Life goes on through rain and shine
The universe is yours and mine
It has no beginning there is no end
It can lift you up drive you round the bend
With the rough and the smooth the twists and turns
Sometimes its soft and sometimes it burns
Like Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde
Its a helterskelter roller coaster ride
Its push and pull on a fine tightrope
Some days are like heaven some days you cant cope
Its constantly changing all the time
The Universe is yours and mine
A place where pleasure and pain go hand in hand
The more you know the less you understand
If you try to put your finger on it then it slips away
Its a prism of colour in a sky of Grey
Mixed up confusion with circles of contradiction
Its symmetry and balance forces and friction
Its a sheep its a wolf its a snake its a ladder
For some it gets easier for some it gets harder
Its a joke yet so serious its life and death
Like a rose with a thorn growing on the vine
The universe is yours and mine
