If Christ is raised from the dead,
Then there is resurrection;
Knowing of what lies ahead,
Points us in which direction.
But if no resurrection,
Not even Christ has risen;
Then you have a rejection,
Having no path to Heaven.
And if Christ has not been raised,
Our preaching is in vain;
The worshipping that we praised,
And our faith is insane.
Then we would bear false witness,
For misrepresenting God;
With no spiritual fitness,
That is making us a fraud.
If the dead do not rise up,
Not even Christ is risen;
It is poison in the cup,
And you are still dead in sin.
Then your faith would be useless,
And sins are not forgiven;
Chaos instead of justice,
Life would be evil driven.
Those who have fallen asleep,
Had not survived and perished;
All the goodness that you reap,
Lost memories you cherished.
But in Christ we have the hope,
Of something after this life;
Pitiful times that we cope,
Through the miserable strife.
In fact Christ rose from the dead,
As the firstfruits that have slept;
To be awaken on their bed,
For faith in Christ that they kept.
