I have studied many Holy Books
In search of a belief
But the conduct of many followers
Brings me to sadness and grief.
They say they are believers,
And in the cause of their Deity's will,
To try and spread the Word,
They go out and maim and kill.
They show such little tolerance
So convinced they are right
And that gives them authority
To use their force and might.
Any Deity they follow is probably
Hanging Its head in shame
At the perversions being carried out
Supposedly in Its name.
