 ramblings and things

Brief Instant

With the James Webb telescope,
Out there in the dark of space,
In its precisely calculated and
Designated observation place
Professors says there's a chance
That, in time, it just might
Capture a picture of
That first emitted light,
Travelled over billions of years
From the Big Bang of creation,
Which may present us
With the situation
That, as light travels
Faster than sound,
James Webb may,
If still around,
Capture and record
The blast of noise
Of that instant of creation,
The Big Bang's voice.
I think, rather, it will go unheard
From out there in deepest space
Thanks to the self destructive
Tendencies of the Human Race,
As a new dominant species
Fights to gain and hold sway
On the Blue Planet as it
Travels serenely on it way.
And the Universe expands,
Stars implode to lose their light
And continue their creation of
That darkest of darkest night.
For the briefest of brief times
In its violent evolving history
Our sentient species tried to
Understand its every mystery.
