The Backyard Of My Life

Glamour Girls And Circus Freaks

Dancing drunk dressed in pink
She looks like shes about to sink
When the lord mayor starts to speak
To glamour girls and circus freaks
The tight rope walker hangs on the wire
While the human cannonball is shot through a ring of fire

Eight white elephants begin a pretty parade
As a lonely clown sits in the summer shade
Seven dwarfs pulling faces in a tiny car
Look like they don't know where they are
Driving round in circles to hear the crowd roar
Entertainment tonight is what we came here for

Come on down to the carnival of light
And see the never ending tour
Laddies and gentlemen we guarantee
A production second to none
And something you have never seen before

Lenny the lazy lion tamer is trapped inside a cage
As the ring master steps in to the center of the stage
While the worlds strongest man lifts an anchor from a ship
One of the two trip ease artists starts to slip
From such a great height on to a trampoline
While a Galloway girl drinks a bottle of gasoline

Mandy the mystic looks in to her crystal ball
Patiently predicts one day the stars may fall
Most are mesmerized by the man known only as jumping jack
Sorry we don't do refunds or your money back
There's a lady blind folded spinning plates next to tattooed sails
While a boy in the bubble must try to sleep on top of a bed of nails

The crazy clown tells a dirty joke
After been sat in silence afraid to speak
To glamour girls and circus freaks
All the time watching somebody throwing knives
Tied to a spinning wheel playing with there lives
As a magician pulls a rabbit from a big black hat
The show is over and that is that
