The Backyard Of My Life

Never Let The Light Die In Her Eyes

Tell me all the dreams you had as a child
With promises of passion
Whisper what drives your heart wild
The night is young the road is long
Keep asking yourself where do we belong?
Oh paradox sweet bird of surprise
Ill Never let the light die your eyes
Ill never let storm clouds gather around your soul
The future is far away and over the wall

Tell to me whats your deepest desire
While were waiting for a flicker in the flame
Burning bright in the eternal fire
I hardly even knew her name
She walks in looks like shes dressed to kill
Pride always comes before a fall now i realize
Ill never let the light die in her eyes
Ill never let the colours in her wishes fade away
Flowers turn to stone or a rainbow become Grey

Everybody is somebody
Nobody should be anybody's fool
The human race are lunatics
Like children they can be so cruel
Why do we do things to
Cause each other sorrow or pain
Ill try to help her see the sunshine through the rain

Confide in me your hopes and fears
Come as you are covered over by careless confessions
Protected under and umbrella of tears
The day has runaway with the midnight hour
Shes sailing on a liberty ship for freedom and power
After all the things she said under the sapphire tinted skies
Ill never let the light die in her eyes
Ill never let the weight of the world be an anchor round her heart
Whenever she thinks its the end of the end
Ill always take her right back to the start
