Crimson Lake   (From 2008, flashing forward to 2022/April 19)

Don't want to be
down and out
anymore
feels like somehow I've got to
even my score
give a shove to those troubled
(I want no more troubles...)

let's try to break them in half
if your/my soul's filled with strife
find a song to put our colors back
let's head back down to
our place
the comforting head space
called sweetness in the water
to our own
Crimson Lake

Crimson Lake where
the Kingfishers are smiling wide
indigo blues skies are sliding along
into the shallows of the water
and you and I can forget how we've been
one of Bad Time's sons or daughters
and how last year's times have mostly gone...

Crimson Lake where a big yellow sun ever-shines
and the silvery fish swim and play
and the mood of it all
invites everyone to sing and stay

Crimson Lake where the a sunset stains the water
in rainbows
and the colors shimmy down to the bottoms of the lake
a world where our slacker's souls can take a long rest
where our thirst for happiness is slaked

Darling
I don't want to be so down and out
anymore
I've got no more feelings left to break

Give these troubles of mine and yours
a rest,
a respite buffer
we were never meant to suffer
slip off your shoes
slip out of your jeans
dangle in your toes and
park your mind
feel the healing waves wash
away your troubles
on the shores
of Crimson Lake

then we'll
swim with the silvery fishes
and sing their ancient happy songs
and afterwards feast on fried manna pancakes
griddled long and fine and sweet and brown
on the loveliest of shorelines
of the wondrous wavy
Crimson Lake

flash forwards into tumble happiness
flash backwards away from tiresome time
step into the mystic waters
of the healing waters of
our Crimson Lake.
