Making Use

In those days going up with lots of economic I'll
We had to develop and hone many boyhood skills
Many never realized how blessed they were with talent
That act of creating something made the time so pleasant

Lots of time were spent gathering empty milk cans
Cutting in two with care not to cut the hands
Inserting one into the other brought such a feeling
Of joy at the sight of the wheel later creating

On a block of wood neatly fixed on top
Was the bigger portion of an empty corned beef tot
The wheels attached used bottle stoppers as washers
One could feel such a measure of such pleasure

Now having now created a tractor
Attention was then focused on a tractor
The completed work brought such happy feeljng
As one walked around looking for something for loading

Old bicycle wheels were added to the sport
As we sat and removed each and every spoke
Fitting a stink into that now form groove
Happily moving along across road not too smooth

Those butter can and five pound skillet
We beat them and the sound was quite rhythmic
Those old men of the village best out such a tune
That as children we enjoyed it by the light of the moon

How we any that was discarded we would convert
Anything that would provide any type of sport
Even the ball bearing we found so useful
For pitching as there was no money to buy any marble
