The Backyard Of My Life

The Moon Will Shine Silver Like A Sixpence

If it rained an ocean over this little china boat
What if gravity gave way and everything could float
The code was cracked pieces of puzzle all made sense
Tonight the moon will shine silver like a sixpence
If all roads where winding leading up to heavens door
Everybody sailing on a stormy sea would wash up on the shore
After been lost and lonely castaway under a sky full of stars
They will be flying on a paper plane across the red sand of mars

Every evening when the sun sinks like a big golden ship
What if snake oil charmers tongues could trip and slip them up
Then for every unsure person sitting on a barbwire fence
Tonight the moon will shine silver like a sixpence
If every single second was bursting at the seams with joy
Everybody looking for love would find the right girl or boy
After searching for something in the great wide unknown
Like a passenger on a Plasticine train sinking like a stone

You can never really know what you want
As soon as you get it you need something else
People are always so serious when it comes to themselves
Living in streets where dreams spill out on the sidewalks
Like cigarettes tossed in to the gutter
Like yesterdays newspapers nobody needs

If there's a crack in the porcelain cat on the mantle piece
Dripping down the fire place now covered in candle grease
All masks will fall you will get the message no need for pretense
Tonight the moon will shine silver like a sixpence
If time is the cross that we all have to bare
Your locked inside a photograph that could be anywhere
After excepting fate facing the fear crying for my shadow
The night just kept on coming and i found out things i didn't know
I found out for myself
I found out who i really am
