All Right Jack

I'm all right Jack.
As everybody knows,
You look after your own,
That's just the way it goes.
And that's just the way
The haves want it to be
To try to drive a wedge
Between you and me.
There's power in numbers
So if they keep us apart
The fight for social justice
Can never make a start.

We are so many,
They so few
If we united  in peace
What could they do.
We could go fight for ourselves
For the poor, deprived and needy,
Or just carry on as we do
Forelock tugging the rich and greedy.
I'm all right Jack, but,
CanI can lift my head high,
Touch my forelock to the Squire
As he goes walking by.

God's in his heaven
The rich stay rich
And the mass at the bottom
Accept that life's just a bitch.
You can stand up and fight
Or just accept your lot
Be satisfied with
The little you've still got.
There can be dignity in defeat,
In the knowledge that you tried,
That, against all the odds,
You've not laid down and died.
