The Backyard Of My Life

Colours Of The Wind (Everybody's Got A Story To Tell)

I would dance with you but my hands are on fire
My feet feel like they have walked home from hell
Talking to a million different people
Everybody's got a story to tell
Something they need or something to sell
Everybody's busy working over time
To try and get away for the summer time
Beyond the sea on a bridge to nowhere

You cant tell nobody nothing never no way
They will only serve themselves at the end of the day
Another carousel conversation its time to ring that bell
Everybody's had a hard year everybody's got a story to tell
Like children throwing coins into a wishing well
Everybody's dreaming of a brighter tomorrow
When they wont need to beg steal or borrow
Beyond the sea on a bridge to nowhere

In all the chaos and confusion
I try to listen to the colours of the wind
My mind can blow those storm clouds away
While they try to articulate what they want to say

Some are politicians some are religious freaks there either rich or poor
Some are placed on pedestals from where others have fell
Everybody's got something to hide everybody's got a story to tell
When certain people speak they can cast a spell
Everybody's running around on life's treadmill
While death is waiting in a doorway for someone to kill
Beyond the sea on a bridge to nowhere
