The Backyard Of My Life

Watercolour Clouds Of Smoke

My sweet painted lady drawing the picture with pencils
Laying down the landscape from a vision of the minds eye
While watercolour clouds of smoke fill up the paper sky
From nothing and from out of nowhere something is created

Framed and captured on to the blank canvas
Some place out of time somewhere to escape to a universe on a page
I watch in wonder how dose she do it? studying the movements of her hands
Looking for clues in the choices she makes
Why does she only keep certain mistakes?

Maybe there's a constant movie playing in her head
Diving deep down into her heart where inspiration burns bright
Over flowing with a million memories and old black and white photographs
Stored in the same space as artists from the Renaissance period and the Mona Lisa
Shes on a voyage of self discovery searching for some kind of answer to it all
There's Vincent van gogh Pablo Picasso and Rembrandt hanging on her wall

As if to say here's a window to my soul take a look inside
There's a notebook next to her bed filled with scribbles and doodles
Of matchstick men and cartoon cats and dogs that will never see the light of day
Countless concepts and wild ideas that somehow lost there way
Beautiful images and wonderful textures tied up with a mixture of emotions
Bringing to life a world around us that many feel but do not see
Showing them in glorious cinema scope the pleasure the passion and the pain

My sweet painted lady making mountains from a circus of collages
Trying to crack the concrete roses with buckets of rainbows
While darkness and light burst into a supper nova of possibility on paper dreams
From nothing without aim or ego something is created
