Like Books Full Of Stories Stacked Behind Her

the girl with two moons
in her eyes
and hummingbirds for dreams

you might miss her
if you blinked

people often do blink
thinking that something has been
trapped in their tearing eyes

but the eye like a camera
often misses
and fails to see the whole person
only the flash of an image
the elongating shadow
of one moment

when
in fact
there are many images stacked  miles high
like libraries of books
filled with short stories
behind her

each a tale
and a trail
worth adding
retelling
and remembering
