New leaves fall and turn
It's soon to be the fall
It will happen too quickly
The leaves will have lived a full life
Did you watch them closely enough
We ran for shelter from the rain, thunder and lightning
They had to stand closely hoping and praying it didn't touch their offsprings, neighbours or their friends
We could cool down from the heatwaves, but they shaded us and the animals and provided shelter for the creatures and birds
We could wrap up warm, but they were completely bare fallen or unfallen
Never once did they make a complaint whilst alive, but the pain they felt, the rumours they heard and the tears they saw and bare witness
They saw the do gooders and the ones who were deceptive, evil and manipulative and bear witness
Turn over a new leaf is not just a saying to take lightly
We must be reminded the afterlife is evergreen and so when they change colour this life of dunya isn't here forever
We must change our hearts and soften them and be it like a tree and show empathy to others and kindness
For the tree doesn't judge who leans on them by ethnicity or colour
Nor does it judge the Upbringing or the wealth
It will only see you for who you truly are
