The Backyard Of My Life

Fly On The Wall

A man walks in to a hotel room loosens his tie
Fixes himself a drink a glass of expensive Italian wine
Looking out the window at the bright lights of Vegas
He can see time slowly moving in the neon signs

A pretty girl in long red leather dress and high heel boots
Takes the elevator up to the forty forth floor
Powders her nose in a pocket mirror then proceeds to knock on the door
Startled and bemused the man was not expecting company

He wonders who on earth that could be
Then very reluctantly peeps through the key hole
Who's there he said with a strong and stern voice
Hello came a soft gentle reply my names Yvonne

Are you the one who placed the called for a woman of the night?
As the door cracks open we see a man with thick black hair
And beautiful brown eyes he says come right this way step inside love
He watches while she seductively walks down the corridor

Clutching her handbag as she makes her way through to the kitchen
A postcard on the fridge from the Hollywood hills
Sparks a conversation about where they both grew up
Then they start to laugh and bound over some mutual hatred

After the clock chimes for the midnight hour the man takes
The beautiful woman's hand and they slip and slide into the master bed
Both laid naked in the candle light bodies sculptured on the silk sheets
Twisted together side by side lost in lust and the look of love

In the morning the man wakes up to find his little tiger Lilly has left
Taken the money from the top of the dresser drawer
Written in black ink on a white handkerchief a number and a name
Laying all alone in silence smiling stirring up at a fly on the wall
