Circus

optimism and glee
the anticipation in me
forget the maps
forget the moon
we’ll party anyway starting at noon
we’ll find Prosecco, and the beach nearby
we’ll hold hands, while others get high

here comes the stars
and flashing lights
and open bars
& inner wars we fight

i’ll play truth
you play dare
spin the bottle
push me there

here comes the music, the noise, the praise
such a silly little life
such a crazy ol’ maze

what about the circus, we buy time
tempt me, please me
while i push the line

what about the circus,
where the fireworks meet stars
tempt me, please me
though you push a little far

optimism and glee
squashing my spirit
freedom and lust so robust
i can hear it
forget the navigation
forget the sun
we’ll find the sand bars
and we’ll start to run

i’ll play truth
you play dare
spin the bottle
push me there

what about the circus, we buy time
tempt me, please me
while i push the line

what about the circus, don’t go inside
boredom awaits to all who hide
don’t lure me in, keep me near
can’t stop enjoying
the circus out here...
