The Backyard Of My Life

Don't Let It Get You Down

Maybe i will end up in flames tonight
While the world whispers wise cracks
Don't let it get you down
If you feel like your about to break
When your time comes
Don't let it get you down

Maybe I've had my moment gone and missed the mark
Walking over broken glass to catch a glimpse of a dream
My heart may get trampled on i might put my foot in my mouth
Make a mistake i regret or do something i am ashamed of
People could judge crucify me put the nails in the coffin

Maybe i will cry a river of lonely tears tonight
While the world waits outside my window
Don't let it get you down
If you think you can carry the weight
When you feel like your all out of faith
Don't let it get you down

Maybe the pressure will push you to stand on the edge of the night
Waiting at the weeping willow while sinister situations try to seduce you
Lead you far away from the right thing lead you to the way of temptation
What if you were to fail miserably and everybody points and laughs
With your head in your hands you wonder where it all went wrong
People will always throw stones and the book at you

Maybe i will be castaway on a stormy sea tonight
While the world watches me sink to the bottom
Don't let it bring you down
If your soul feels like its about to shatter
When there's no hope any where to be found
Don't let it get you down
Don't let the bastards beat you cheat or defeat you
Don't let it get you down
