AFTERMATH

THAT CHAIR IN THE CORNER

THAT CHAIR IN THE CORNER

There is a special chair in our home
So many stories I was told, the odd creepy poem
My grandpa stories of adventures and jokes
Lots of history about his folks
His stories always exciting and fun
Nobody would sit in his spot, if you did prepare to run
He would make monster sounds till we were gone
This chair belongs to him, to him alone
Always greeted with grandpa's big smile
Now I just and dream for a little while
Hearing of his passing, cut like a knife
It still hurts even though that is part of life
Sometimes I dream he is still sitting there
It gives me peace of mind, that magic chair
A chair full of memories to hold on too
Maybe I can give my grand kids memories
Like my grandpa use to do
One day I know I will have to leave
Only wish I can give a gift like I received
To some this is just an old chair
For me proof someone who really cared
THAT CHAIR IN THE CORNER
