The Backyard Of My Life

Catching Fire Trying To Touch The Diamond Sky

Walking over bridges with neon tattoos
Picking Plasticine flowers from a garden of gold
There's a rainbow in the basement somewhere
A paper ship sailing on a sea of holes

Tonight I softly kiss the world of stone goodbye
Falling down into the clouds my imagination
Is catching fire trying to touch the diamond sky

Watching shadows dancing along the wall
While the big blue moon melts back into the darkness
There's a thousand steps on a spiral staircase somewhere
Shooting stars in jam jar on a windowsill

Sitting at the mad hatters table with a piece of my magic pie
Coming up into a majestic morning my thoughts
Are catching fire trying to touch the diamond sky

Life is suffering sometimes malevolent so it seems
With a pretty piece of paper on the tip of my tongue
Reality is transformed into dreams

Looking at a light show in a liquid mirror
Crazy patterns form on the ceiling disappear without a trace
There's a pink elephant in a kitchen sink somewhere
A sofa shaped like a rocking horses head

Tonight I can see the universe out of the corner of my eye
My soul has reached a higher vibration
Its catching fire trying to touch the diamond sky
