You started my life with so many blessings
And then you took away every single thing
One by one and now I am left with nothing.
You gave me a father who was a bright star
Of India but then you took him away before
I was one year old and was totally unaware
Of my loss and unable to care for my mother.
Two sisters were left out of eight siblings
then you took away one when she was only
Nineteen years and I was a small boy of ten.
You took away smile and laughter from my
Mother by giving her a one in a million man
As her husband and then you took him away.
You gave her nine children and took away
Seven and gave her a lifetime of grief.
A widow with no means to look after us.
Life was tough but she made sure that
We were looked after and we were happy
Until she joined my father and left us.
I was left with an only sibling- my sister
But now she is gone leaving me all alone.
You gave me so much and then one by one
took everything away from me,
Why God, why?
