The Backyard Of My Life

The Girl From The Planet Of Purple Snow

She knew her words well shes a punk poet pioneer
Who's handwriting hangs in the air like flying reindeer
She left me a note with directions telling me where to go
The girl from the planet of purple snow

She was standing at the station waiting for a twilight train
Sitting at the centre of a circle in the eye of a hurricane
Whispering secrets i was so sure to never know
The girl from the planet of purple snow

She was shining like a star with a pair of indigo wings
Dancing like a dragonfly around the dust of Saturn's rings
Riding through clouds that collide on a unicorn with a golden glow
The girl from the planet of purple snow

I've seen the dawn a thousand times from the dark side of the moon
Sailed on a ship of silver sun light by the banks of my own lagoon
Like an eternal flame burning my deepest desire
Shes the queen of the throne at the cosmic empire

She would paint pictures of pyramids on misty mars
A lady mademoiselle who wrote her own memoirs
Trying to keep her self to her self laying low
The girl from the planet of purple snow

She always knew she had me tucked up in her back pocket
With that old brown photograph framed in an expensive locket
While pirates paint the sky on the plethora of Pluto
The girl from the planet of purple snow
