Poetic Verses

That War

How many times we see such pain and destruction
Brought about by the fury of a hurricane's action
It may remain there pounding for a few hours
After which it will move out over the waters

But there is no comparison to the damage done by a war
As those destructive missiles at launched from afar
Homing in on the target with such a degree of precision
Resulting in such terror and great destruction

As a visitor one can admire a building standing so majestic
And many people there took picture of it, so fantastic
But when hit by a rocket begin to tumble and crumble
And in no time become nothing but a pile of rubble

That constant and continued rate of bombardment
Is not to the natives a sight that is unnerving and unpleasant
Because adults, animals and children so mercilessly
Shall become victims increasing the number casualties

There is such great damage to the country's infrastructure
That destruction does not paint a pretty picture
When counted it can run up a cost of many billion
This can further compounds and presents a graver situation

As technology now has brought on such sophistication
Has now increased the intensity of the destruction
Because they are now added to the repertoire of the armoury
The use of drones are employed with such frequency

This war and its reasons now so hard to explain
Some may even say that aggressor must be insane
Perhaps his calculation was that it would be a walk over
But the resistance was so surprising, it gave the ego a shatter

Because of such a predicament, there is now an intensity
It is hoped that with the allies support, they can defend stubbornly
If there is another embarrassment, there is tha fear
The he may step up to weapons that are nuclear

But what has he done that nation
As we see hunger, hopelessness on the faces of the children
Who have been interrupted from a life filled with happiness
To by war be replaced by fear, poverty and hopelessness

How can one sit and beam feeling happy to survey
To see the mess they have cause and the uncertainty and dismay
Not thing of the children, whilst the do such a dastard deed
Pray tell me on what material does such a conscience feed?

This action many come to abhor
Saying than nobody wins a war
