The Path
But what does it take to win an election
This is most of the times a difficult we question
And to those experts can be such a conundrum
Also to the electorate at times a big problem
Some candidates came from that status of a celebrity
Hoping to ride on that wave of their popularity
But that lack of acuity, in that new position
Often makes the electorate regrets their decision
We can encounter some who are very articulate
Such debating skills, the opponents they easily berate
Success achieved, but when time came to rate that performance
The report card will show there did nothing of substance
On occasions one will come along to deal with issu
Also with idea, that are so fresh and new
One can see the potential there for such to grow
If accepted, implemented many eyes will glow
But what about the ones the electorate they educate
About the processes, their knowledge base to elevate
Hoping that this will keep them so we'll up to date
And can be able to make an informed decision about their fate
Of course there are those who would not fail to attack ad hominem
Not in anyway seeing the severity of the constituency problems
But will to go to the gutter, with such vitriolic attacks
On the person, supporters without any substantiative facts
Yes of course these are things many people want to hear
Know that lie or true can take some time to repair
As they bask, knowing full they have damaged a reputation
But it was all about winning, that is the intention
Other think success comes by keeping an air to the ground
Having advisers and supporters that are all around
Zero in on problems, and providing solutions that are sound
This caring can be a path to a victory that is so resound
