The Backyard Of My Life

Damaged Society In A Beautiful World

When you wake up in the morning I'll be long gone
So you better get back to where you come from
With your feet firmly fixed in a gravity grave
You're gonna have to lie in the bed you have made
Keep on dreaming but you will never escape
The push and pull of the modern damaged society

When you fall asleep tonight ill be on my way
Words are swords so choose them wisely watch what you say
With your head caught up in clouds of confusion
You see your blue skies return to smoke and pollution
In your meaningless existence living your own little illusion
While the dirt slowly forms on the windowsill

We seem so determined to follow death and his friends
Maybe this is where our beautiful world ends
Apocalypse and Armageddon up in smoke a dying spark
Back to the stone age wandering around lost in the dark

When you open your eyes tomorrow it may be too late
To undo all the knots we tied in our futures fate
With our hands bound by our past mistakes holding us back
Don't take the sunshine and paint the whole thing black
We can fix everything that's broken get this train on the right track
Out of the clutches of the insane psychotic psychopaths

When your rest your head on your pillow after midnight
Prepared to sink without putting up a fight
With our messed up minds were still crawling in the gutter
The choices we make can lead us to suffer
Times need to change we need to love one another
Don't let fear bring you down in flames of guilt
In a damaged society in a beautiful world
