The Backyard Of My Life

The Girl Who Rode Wild Horses

She used to ride wild horses in the Fields of gold
Back when her future seemed so far away
Her heart was filled with the dreams of children
Every night was never ending chasing all the stars
Every morning was another long and winding road

She used to ride wild horses over the hills
With the wind in her hair she never felt so free
Never thinking of tomorrow with the world at her feet
Always living for the moment action and adventure
Fearless and brave taking any strange situation in her stride

Life has a way of parting us from our plans
Wishes we once had can slip through our hands
We don't always end up where we thought we would be
Its not about the destination its about the journey

She used to ride wild horses under the yellow moon
Racing towards the waterfalls of her deepest desires
With all of her fantasies sticking out of her back pocket
Living like a queen of roses like a force of nature
There's nobody nothing nowhere could stand in her way

She used to ride wild horses down to the wishing well
Back when magic and mystery where tangled up together
Her soul and her handbag were full of wanderlust
Every day seemed like another stepping stone
Every night felt like it was forever young
The girl who rode wild horses is still in there somewhere
