 ramblings and things

She spoke to me in Jargon

Virtually every single word

I writhed in despair, barely

Understanding half I heard

Induction day at my new job
Not a likely long career

When you cant comprehend

Most of the words you hear

Language was an invention

Every individual word

Probably just copied from

Natural sounds heard,

Expanding to explain

As our species

Grew in sophistication.

Language was invented

To keep the species alive

Giving them the advantage

To survive and to thrive.

Language usage now splits

Our Nations in two

Those who use many words

When just a simple one will do.

Those who use long words

As a sign of education

Distinct from the common herd,

Sign of sophistication.

It’s so hard to accept

That people like these,

Just like us, once

Came down from the trees.
