Prayer to the Unknown

Prayer to the Unknown
By Mythica Blessyng

Trying to control the Unknown
Is like trying to stop a tsunami
By being angry or afraid of it.
Screaming at it does nothing
To stop us from being
Swept away.
Its energy is unfathomable
To the mind.
There are more gifts
In the unknown
Than a finite mind
Can imagine.
Forgive me.
I tried to control you.
Just as silly to try
To stop the marching
Of time.
It is impossible.
I have only ended up
Being anxious
Freaked out
And avoiding
Looking anywhere
Near you.
I don’t want to feel this
Way anymore.
Please beloved.
Help me to trust you
Again,
Like When I was
A child
Full of wonder,
Curiosity, and awe.
Turn anxiety into excitement
Turn avoidance into curiosity
Turn control into trust
Turn projection into presence
Turn fear into loving acceptance
Turn anything that isn’t loving
Into a warm childlike embrace.
Each second in life
Has Infinite possibilities.
Because of this
It is impossible to know
What is going to happen
Two seconds from now
Let alone two days
Or weeks
Or months
Or years
From now.
As mere humans
We can only make
A symbol for infinity
The rest is only either
One of two things
Trust or denial.
Help me to embrace
Trust.
Denial has only
Made my life
More anxious and
Painful.
In you oh deep
And unfathomable Unknown
Is the Divine.
“The Mind of God is UNknowable.”
But the heart is
Connected to it.
In the heart is love.
In the heart is trust.
In the heart is openness.
In the heart is curiosity.
In the heart is bravery.
In the heart is the connection
To infinite love.
It is the doorway
To the unknown,
Hidden in plain sight.
Help me to open
The door to a life
Which is far better
Than I could have
Ever imagined.
Open my mind
Open my heart
Open my life
To receive
More than I could
Possibly imagine
With a finite mind
And fearful heart.
I am ready to embrace
This day with curiosity
And trust in the process
Of being present
So I don’t miss
The gifts you have
Prepared for me
Because I am loved
More than I can
Possibly imagine.
Thank you beloved
For all your love
Even though through
All the years
I have projected
Such terrible fears
On you.
Thank you for all
The good things
I never expected
But you gave me
Anyway.
I love you.
I appreciate you more
Now.
I promise to do my best
To be present with you,
So I can receive
Your gifts.
Amen.
