Written at 14 years old (fantasies and old poetry)
I see them all in rovers
Cool porches
Mummy taught me life isn't about the fast lane
Its never about materlism
Walking in the mall in their cool clothes
Their fancy hair and nails
I wished that I could be like the cool kids
Until I saw how stuck up they actually were
No curfew and they be falling behind at school
I was shocked to see the y11s
Still managing to pass their gcses
What a corrupt universe
Special treatment or just a windup on those paying tax twice to help their family
4 jobs in one household and still no air Jordans
I just wanted to jump in the pool
Be invited to all those cool places they go
Until mama told me I'm beautiful and live the life I want
I became my own companion
I had My own group
We've no audi or BMW
We were cool in our minds
Our parents worked hard and we appreciate the gifts
Even if it ain't from Gap or gucci
Or mulberry
We got by with everything we had
