Oh give thanks unto the Lord,
Because of His steadfast Love;
Since His mercy has endured,
Forever from up above.
Let the redeemed of the Lord,
He has redeemed from trouble;
Never will they be ignored,
When buried in the rubble.
From the lands of east and west,
Gathered from the north and south;
Wandered to survive the test,
Through a land that had a drought.
Days felt like a burning hell,
Dying of hunger and thirst;
Finding no city to dwell,
A stressed soul has felt accursed.
Cry to the Lord of their ill,
To deliver from distress;
Guide them to His holy hill,
With His compassion to bless.
God led them to a straight way,
Reached a city to dwell in;
Where they could worship and pray,
A place for avoiding sin.
Let them give thanks to the Lord,
The goodness of steadfast love;
His wondrous works are adored,
That has been displayed thereof.
He fulfills the longing soul,
The hungry soul with goodness;
He comforts and will console,
His mercy and grace will bless.
