I try to keep my chin up high,
I live a life both happy and bright,
I try never to let anything get me down,
But sometimes I glitch in the dark of night!
But it's allowed, I am human,
I hurt, cry and feel too,
So though I try my very best,
Sometimes my pain shines on through!
But I try to never dwell on it,
And sort it out real fast,
File it away, bury it deep,
Get rid of the hurt at last!
The dark side of my mind…
Is hidden from all so they can't see,
What's really inside my head!
When it's sad and down I will be!
But on the other side of the dark side,
There shines within me bright,
The sunny side, my smiling face,
A face so gay and bright!
For showing our hurt to the world,
Wont do us any good because you see,
It just makes us vulnerable,
It only hurts us, you and me!
So when I'm down I wear a mask,
For all of the world to see…
The strength I have, the positive side,
And that means a lot to me!
