Musings by The Poet Loriet
Happy
"Who bought you flowers?"
I laughed as I told him,
"i'm self-sufficient. I buy
my own flowers!"
I stop to smell them,
admire their aesthetic beauty,
how they bring together
colors in my kitchen.
They caught my eye
in the grocery store.
I laid the bouqet
across my arms
and twirled around once.
I love buying flowers.
Yes, I buy my own flowers,
my own jewelry, my own
indulgences and
my own happiness...
because I never
let myself down.
