Musings by The Poet Loriet

Regret

No, I don't regret straddling you,
putting my arms around your neck,
looking into your beautiful caramel eyes,
kissing you passionately,
breathing heavy together,
making out like teenagers,
kissing, kissing, kissing--

clothing coming off in
a trail across the room,
you laying me back,
kissing me everywhere,
me reciprocating until
we were joined together
as close as two people
can possibly be,
hearing your moans,
watching your face,
kissing, kissing, kissing--

feeling your warmth
as you blanketed me
with your naked flesh...

No, I don't regret one moment
except that you couldn't stay,
because in the quiet moments
after making love
is when souls connect,
hearts fuse, and hands soothe.

I never got the chance
to tell you my secrets.
