Last night
As I peacefully slept.
My heart told a story
To my soul
And this is what it said.
?Not so long ago,
I held a love
So deep and true.
A love so pure,
That it couldn't be wrong.
A love that makes you a better person
Just for having it.
This love has wiped my tears away
And healed me
When I was hurt.
And because of it
I beat stronger
And more truthful.
And one may think
We had all we needed
That we were destined
To be together,
But they would be wrong
Because we aren't
And we can't.
This love
That was born in me
And grew within,
Was impossible.
This is a love that will never be forgotten
Or shall never be regretted
Because with it holds
One of my dearest friendships.
Without it
I would not
Be who I am now,
It has helped mold
Both you and me.
Having it was as easy as breathing
And forgetting it would kill me,
So forever it will be,
Deep within,
Till' I beat my last beat.?
And for this,
My soul wept.
All of it's grief and despair
Drained out of my heart,
Out of my life.
Leaving only what you've given me.
