I Wish To Be...

Ashamed, blamed -
For each calamity.
The heart suffers with insanity.
My desire to have each one see-
I wish to be, a better me.

To expose my humility,
And put shame upon my pride-
I'd slit the flesh's outside-
'Cause my inside wants them to see-
I wish to be, a better me.

I have failed, disappointed, and corrupted-
I have disgraced-
Each person who knows my face.
I need to learn how to be a selfless me.
I wish to be, a better me.

An attempt to punish myself
For I've failed to expose my invisible wealth -
Of love.
I ache and scream because I beg you to see-
That I wish to be, a better me.

God anoint me, break me-
With every ounce of humility.
Father, forgive me...
Make sure at least you see-
That I try to be a better me.
