Bruises that bear a story
Of a young girls troubles
That shares a tale
Of one that would do anything
Just to be loved.
How one soul can withstand
All that is evil,
All that causes pain,
And still keep a piece of her heart
Full of love, full of trust,
Locked away from pain and lies.
Everyone knows he hits her,
And for no reason at all.
They try to help,
To be sympathetic,
But her eyes are closed
And they've given up.
She had given her life to love,
And her soul to hope,
She gave all she was
And it wasn't enough,
All she wanted was to be loved in return.
