I look into the water
and watch the memories float by
Of people long dead
or of friends that once were mine
Remembering all the times
where love was always felt
Where friendship was worn like a garment
Like an armor the protection would help
As time goes by
and the memories gather tall
Seeing all their values
Reflecting one and all
Experiences and the deeds
building upon our souls
Creating ourselves
from all the memories we hold
For we are the sum of experience
we grow with each of our deeds
Like a mathematical equation
rules are what we heed
All the totals will reflect
upon a rising star
Reflections upon the waters of humanity
telling of how little or how far
It judges if we are heroes
or just another clown
by the actions and deeds before us
We're know for our history that's written down
So as you walk past reflections
that glitter water bright
That travels on Humanity's waters
Even in morning, noon, and mid-night
The pages are all logged
to tell the truth within
And all the lies that pass your lips
might lose you all your friends
So walk a line of promise
never break one that you make
And help those less fortunate
don't leave them in your wake
For you may find a day
when misfortune shakes your hand
And walking down a tattered road
in the sight of the indifferent Man.
