Poems

as night prowls...

as night prowls the frayed edges of lacy dreams,
as i humble as prey, cry a feverish call,
seek some semblance of day, hear no answer at all.
as i used to believe that love conquers all...
my fingertips skim those same tattered seams
as i realise that night doesnt know what love means
as much as i know my judgement still fails
as much as i think on those times with fond smiles
and i wonder where we lost the sweet time
as i realise that love held you from being mine
as much as i hate this brick wall of quiet
the silence. the fear. the unspoken fight.
as night prowls the frayed edges of love gone sour
the lacy webs of some spid’ry crept hour
i thank that same night that i know better now...
as these dreams prowl the edges of night.
