As I was growing up
in my first year of life
My world was inside my house
and the great yard outside
My relative were like giants
everything was so tall
But, the hands of my Grandmother
were as soft as a pillow's fall
I remember all the lullabies
she sang to me each night
She taught me how to say my prayers
and that goodness was always right
I ate the food before me
to grow up tall with pride
For I want to be like my Grandfather
who ruled the world outside.
