Life Hurt
I tried to control it, it hurt so bad
It took every ounce of energy I had
To contain a feeling, to its existence deny
To make a truth false, it's futile to try
I pushed, I pulled, I lied, I jeered
Everything in life I feared
I prayed and thought I trusted in Him
But.the lights all around me slowly went dim
I wanted to feel joy; all I felt was pain
The message was this:"COME OUT OF THE RAIN
LET YOURSELF FEEL; LET THE HURT COME AND GO
IT IS YOUR TIME TO GROW, GROW, GROW"
Life Hurt
But, I would not listen, I held on tight
I pushed my feelings down with all of my might
I tied them down with an invisible chain
All that did was turn hurt into pain
I can not look at what these messages reveal
It would be better to hide than it would be to feel
What if I get sucked up, or they over-power me?
Little did I know to feel, would have set me free
I wanted to feel joy; all I felt was pain
The message became clear: I came out of the rain
I let myself feel;
I let the hurt come and go
It was my time to Grow, Grow, Grow
Life Cheered
All the love and joy surfaced; It was there all-a-long
Waiting for the sun to shine to sing life's glorious song
I faced all my fears; God turned them all around
The opposite of fear is love and LOVE is what I found
