RUNNING FROM MY SHADDOW

although I think I'm sure of myself
under the denial is insecurity
although I think high of myself
a part of me is not OK with me

I have a message I give myself
although, I don't realize I do
I run and hide and resist myself
to avoid the message seeping through

although the message is really a lie
to my inner world it is true
if to its existence I continue deny
I will somehow keep this lie true

I think I'm running toward my goals
and wonder why I cant get there
without knowing I've run off course
trying to avoid message despair

if only I would take courage
and to my truth I face
then drain the dam to floorage
my heart I would embrace

and remember when I feel upset
I'm resisting a truth in or out of me
and if I come into acceptance
the truth will set me free
