We look up at the night sky and just gaze,
And we're struck in awe being amazed;
Of the countless number of stars we see,
Which are placed there by God's decree;
Filling the sky and twinkling with delight,
Nearly seem to dance through the night;
I remember one night when I was a kid,
The clouds caused the stars to be hid;
A severe thunderstorm was the cause,
The thunder almost sounded as applause;
I asked my dad what makes all the noise,
He said that the angels started to rejoice;
They were bowling and a strike occurred,
I said ok even though it sounded absurd;
Then I asked about the lightning to flare,
He said take a shot of a strike or a spare;
I know now that he wanted to ease the fear,
That the danger wasn't as seem to appear;
Our Heavenly Father protects us likewise,
He wants to comfort us during stormy skies.
