Ten Steps Back...2002

Take one step forward, ten steps back
Still moving along the way;
Ever changing, growing strong
Through elation and dismay.
Take one step forward, ten steps back.
It's o.k. now.
Can't they see?
Sometimes we step back wards
Before stepping closer unto Thee.
Take one step forward, ten steps back,
An angel following behind
To gently catch us when we fall,
Leading us e'er into the light.
Take one step forward, ten steps back.
Now take a break and rest.
For it's not the ten steps back my friends,
But the one step forward that is the test.
Take one step forward, ten steps back;
Regain innocence and youth.
For each step back you gain some wisdom.
For each step forward you learn some truth.
Take one step forward, ten steps back,
Until you you find yourself and then,
Take one step forward, ten steps back;
Then start stepping once again.
Take one step forward, ten steps back.
It's o.k. now.
Can't they see?
Sometimes we must step back wards
Before stepping closer unto Thee...
