Words and Verse

Apology

It's over, done with, so you said.
And I agree with prostrate head
I know...but scarce believe it yet
For now our sun, once high, is set.
How could we rise to such a height
To set in such a starless night?
Where beasts in toneless forests roar
Where unknown sunrises blush the shore
Where darkling night crowns her prince mars
Amid a diadem of stars,
Where old arcturus swings his face
Across the speckled gulf of space,
Where valleys deep in glory low
With hidden blooming wonders glow,
Where waters of the ancient sea
Lap on the bare and barren lea,
There would I go, to praise your name
And curse mine in a throe of shame.
Curse mine...hell if there ever was
A curse so just and pure in cause
A curse that I myself have wrought
In passion of a lustful thought.
I may have lost your heart but never
Shall you my own sad curse dissever.
This curse with which I now am pressed
Is, though a curse, still just and blessed,
For I'm now cursed, by love for you,
To ever unto you be true,
Where you may need a helping heart
Where you may have greif to impart,
Where you may want a simple friend...
I swear: that bond shall never end!
I fashion from my rightful ache
One promise I shall never break
I'm here for you until our end
To be your faithful, truthful friend.
