Every morning before I awake,
While resting comfortably in a half-sleep state,
Words, poems and music dance around in my head,
All while still lying down, while still in my bed.
My life is like a poem, what will be my next line?
Sometimes I am very afraid--can I come up with a good rhyme?
At those times, when I feel I have nothing good to say,
My guides whisper a loving word or two to carry me throughout the day.
Before I awake, I hear a still small voice,
It inspires in me the will to make the right choice.
To live and love all, it's God's own way,
On this true path of life, I must not stray.
By opening my mind, soul and my heart,
I learn the art of living, the truest form of art.
To live and learn life's meaning, and listen to my guides,
Gives me a warm fuzzy feeling, way down deep inside.
My guides are there always, especially when I'm very still,
Constantly teaching and showing me how to do God's will.
Just before I awake, I hear the voice speak to me,
Telling me to love myself, my wife, my son and family,
Teaching me to love everything especially my enemies.
When I awake, I remember what had just been said,
While I was half asleep, still lying in my bed.
