From Heart to Heart
Over The Road
Why you ask, do I drive all night,
from town to town, from site to site.
Well, look into my bloodshot eyes,
and I'll tell you friend, I'll tell you why.
It's for the ones that really care,
For the ones whose life I share.
The little girl in her bed,
her eyes of blue and hair of red
It's for my woman around the bend,
For her sweet embrace at the end,
the smile upon her welcome face,
and warmth within our little place
So when you traveling in the night,
Trucking fast from site to site,
Give me a wave and wish me on,
For I'll be driving dusk til dawn
from town to town, from site to site.
Well, look into my bloodshot eyes,
and I'll tell you friend, I'll tell you why.
It's for the ones that really care,
For the ones whose life I share.
The little girl in her bed,
her eyes of blue and hair of red
It's for my woman around the bend,
For her sweet embrace at the end,
the smile upon her welcome face,
and warmth within our little place
So when you traveling in the night,
Trucking fast from site to site,
Give me a wave and wish me on,
For I'll be driving dusk til dawn
